Thesis Students at Wildsumaco

About the Thesis Program

We are seeking to support Ecuadorian thesis students, especially those with a focus in biology or the environment. Collect field data for your project at Wildsumaco Wildlife Sanctuary, and use our research facilities at Wildsumaco Biological Station.

Requirements

  • Enrolled or in the process of being enrolled in an undergraduate, master’s, or doctorate program, where a research thesis or dissertation is a requirement to complete the program.

  • Students that we support are generally expected to stay 1-4 months onsite and use Wildsumaco as a major portion of their project.

  • While students are expected to prioritize their own projects, ideal students will assist with other projects and organizational activities.

What’s Included

  • Lodging in Wildsumaco Biological Station’s dormitory

  • Three homemade meals per day

  • Access to Wildsumaco Wildlife Sanctuary

  • Access to research facilities (laboratory coming soon!) and research equipment on a case-by-case basis

Please note that we do not always have funding to support student projects.
