Overview

 

 

Wildsumaco Biological Station is located in the buffer zone of Sumaco Napo-Galeras National Park, several kilometers from the park’s main entrance - the Sumaco Volcano access trail.

Francis Marion University, the University of North Carolina Wilmington, and Wildsumaco Wildlife Sanctuary partnered to establish Wildsumaco Biological Station in 2012.

 

In collaboration with Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador, Wildsumaco Biological Station has hosted student groups and researchers for over a decade.

For researchers:

Wildsumaco's researchers receive reduced rates!
 

Researchers seeking to conduct research projects at Wildsumaco should first reach out to introducing their project and tentative time frame on-site.

Before confirming your reservation (reservation@sumacoconservation.org), researchers should fill out this brief research proposal form and get approval from our Scientific Advisory Committee. Attach and cite project permits and/or research proposals when helpful.
